Immerse Yourself into Japanese Culture

This usually means that you should go to Japan and learn it over there but Wrong. We are in the 21st century. We have internet and all it takes to immerse yourself into the Japanese Culture is to make Japanese friends online. But how do you do that ? The answer lies in Social Media. The best place for this is Google Plus. Google plus lets you add random people you don't know but share your passion for something. You will find Japanese Culture pages, People, Communities, etc. Everything you need to feel like you life in Japan.

Look for Japanese Media

Looking out for media from Japan can be done from the comfort of your home. Look for Japanese Youtube Channels, Blogs, Websites, Animes, Music etc. Personally, I like to listen to News and Animes. FNN news has an extensive news channel on Youtube with short news in Japanese.

Set Everything to Japanese

All you have to do is turn your beloved Smartphone's or phone's settings to Japanese. If you are hardcore, you can even change the settings of your laptop. The more softcore option would be to add a Japanese Keyboard to your Smartphone and Laptop.

Label Your Items

This is a classic tip. All you have to do is put a sticky note on the various items you have at home(preferably with Hiragana, Katakana). That way you see the meaning for everything. If you are more advanced, you can use Kanji on your sticky notes instead of Hiragana and Katakana.

Read Japanese Books (Free)

This is something that helps you practice specifically your reading and understanding. Now, don't go and download some books at random. There is a great website that offers these books in pdf and html formats for free. They are legal because the authors died hundred years ago. The Site is called Aozora. I leave you the link to my favorite author, Kenji Miyazawa.
