Densha Otoko (J-Drama)

This might be one of the best Japanese movies I have seen in its genre. The movie has the classical genres like comedy, romance and drama. The stories is said to be based on a true story. Great to Enjoy with friends or alone.

Synopsis

A young Japanese Otaku saves a pretty young woman from a drunken man on the train. After the incident, the young women gets the Otaku's address and sends him a gift to thank him. The Otaku feels surprised after receiving a thank you gift. He wants to compensate the young women for the gift and tries to invite her. The problem is that he is an Otaku and he has no idea of how to invite her.
Unsurprisingly, he looked for answers on the largest chat site of Japan: "2Channel". There he finds a lot of people that are willing to help him as they see themselves partially reflected in the Otaku. As the story progresses many funny things happen but characters change throughout the story. At the end, it all depends from the characters...

Interesting Facts

The story is a bit older but apparently the story was talked over and over by millions on 2channel. This made the story popular until at some point the story was adapted to a Manga. As a Manga, the story gained even more popularity and was then adapted in a book followed by a movie and tv drama.

Extra Credit

The acting of the Otaku was really convincing. The Actor that interpreted the Otaku is called Takayuki Yamada and he usually is the more action filled cool guy in the movies. In Densha Otoko, he had to interpret the role of an Otaku that is shy and introvert. His character felt very original and true. That made the story very credible and easy to connect to.
One of the best japanese movies for everyone. Enjoy the movie and share your experience if you like with us on our Google Plus Page <(_ _)>

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (J-Drama)

A good way to learn and practice a language is through movies and sitcoms. The real powerhouse of Japan lies in its media. There you will find anything. This time, I recommend you Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge. This drama is filled with comedy, romance and drama.

Resume
The story is about Nakahara Sunako a girl that has suffered a trauma after being called "ugly" by the only guy she confessed to. Due to this trauma, she avoids everything that looks beautiful. She stops caring about herself and becomes a shutten in person. As time goes on, Sunako's aunt orders four handsome high school students that live in her mansion for free to turn Sunako into a "beautiful lady". The aunt promises to let the four high school students to keep living for free in the mansion if they fulfil the order.
The good news for the four high school students is that Sunako is beautiful, although she hides her beauty. The problem lies in her attitude and likes. Since she has shut herself in for a lot of time, she has become a rather macabre person. She likes everything that has to do with horror, terror, ghosts, etc. The biggest task these four high school students have to face is her personality and likes. To make things even harder, she can not stand beautifull people or "dazzling creatures" as she calls them. At the end, the whole drama turns into a giant comedy with some dramatic moments and some thrilling ones as well.

The drama has several well known actors. For instance, Sunako is interpreted by Oomasa Aya, a Japanese model and actress. Kyouhei, one of the four high school students, is interpreted by Kamenashi Kazuya, a well known Japanese actor, singer, idol, producer and model.
